the ice cream eating contest
Quick Lick "the deuce" was a quick one for sure. 2011 champions, Noah and Nate came back to defend their titles but were dethroned quickly. Eight year old, Hayner Gonzalez, pounded his ice cream in record time and took the kids race. Andrew Lane, AKA, "A-Bomb" licked his bowl clean even faster to take the big kid race. Former Lafayette mayor, Bob L. Burger was a guest contestant and had a cocktail while downing his sugar free dessert.
eats & sweets celebrated their 1 year anniversary with an ice cream eating contest. It was a fun event for Old Town Lafayette. Noah Davis licked a mound of ice cream to win the 13 and under race and Nate O'Rourke spooned down his ice cream to capture the big kid race. Mayor Frank Phillips had a great strategy, but couldn't hang with Nate.
We are celebrating our 6th anniversary with our annual ice cream eating contest. It's a race to finish first. There are two races, a 12 and under and 13 and over.
WINNER GETS ICE CREAM FOR A YEAR*
How to be a contestant:
It's done on a lottery basis. Every time you come in for ice cream, you can put your name in the lottery. The more times you come in and put your name in, the better your chances to be chosen. We will picking four contestants for each race along with the defending champ. The drawing will be held on July 5th. We will fill the last slot for both races with a lottery drawing on the day of the race.
